Working on tons of stuff. First off, Tim's sent me a commentary from overseas (Albeit a somewhat short one). Second, I've been wondering what to do to make up for a lack of about a week's worth of strips in Tim's absence, and I see two different solutions. And if I can work hard and fast enough, I'll be able to do both of them. In any case, whatever needs to be done would be timed best if done by Monday, so we'll both find out then. The third of four sketches by Tim is up, once again focusing on Ish. I thought this one was kinda' cool, albeit a bit unclear. In any case, the fourth sketch (And my favorite of the four) should be up on Monday. Hope you like it! Meantime, in today's strip, Tim gets one last thought before the crew heads into Mognet. Tim (The art guy) said that he liked how his character looked in the fourth frame, but I think it looks a bit too much like Cowboy Bebop's Spike. In any case, enjoy! Oh, and by the way, Gran Turismo 3 would probably still rock a lot if I wasn't spending all my game time playing (And loving) Klonoa 2 7/25/01 - Cho pa, Kloa! Yeah, that was a sad attempt at Klonoa-talk. Either I said "Thanks, Klonoa!" or "The cheese is old and moldy". In either case, Klonoa 2 is apparently out pretty soon (If it isn't out already), which calls for much rejoicing. *Does a happy dance*. Err... anyways, in today's strip, you see the real origin of our webcomic's name. It's funny, back when the webcomic was still in planning stages, and I was coming up with the basic storyline, I suggested the name Mognet, and Tim was less-than-thrilled with it, I think. But since then, it's started to make more sense, and with the way I've worked it into the story, I actually think the name is very fitting. Also, I've put up the second of Tim's "I'm away, so here's some art to look over while I'm gone" sketches. This one shows a cute lil' sweater-wearing girl, and you can see it here. Personally, I liked another sketch he drew a LOT more, but I'm saving that for last. Oh, and now that I've had a bit more time to play it, Gran Turismo 3 rocks even MORE. 7/23/01 - A New Day.mp3 Well, there's a few things to talk about today, and I suppose I may as well begin with other places. Today's title is kinda' a wierd tribute to Mr. Jeremy Parish. Apparently, Mr. Parish is being his usual self, and is updating Toastyfrog.com without telling anyone. I'm not sure how long he's been doing it, but now he'll likely maim me for pointing it out, as he's like one of those crabs that doesn't like being pulled from underneath a rock and into the sun and... you know, this analogy is going nowhere, so I'll stop it right there. In other news on websites other than this, I encourage you all to check out today's (Well, it's actually yesterday's or the day before's) edition of fellow comic NoRTH. So far, I'm not sure what to think of this comic, as it's creator seems to have chosen for it to be one of the few webcomics not to go for comedy, but a wierd form of drama mixed with a kawaii-like nature. Although I'm still not sure wether I like the comic as a whole, I've gotta' love today's little bit of fan-service. That last little bit with Dianne in bed at the end... oooooh... Err... uhm... ahem. Anyways, I just saw Jurassic Park 3, and boy did it stink (Opinions in the forum). Well, it didn't stink a lot, but it stunk more than any of the stench the first two made put together. Looks like Spielberg knew when to ditch the series just like Keanu knew when to ditch doing Speed 2 (Probably the moment he saw the words "On a boat", no doubt). Finally, as far as comic stuff goes, there's plenty of stuff to fill Tim's absence. He's given me a few cool drawings to post up while he's away, and rather than put them all up at once, I think I'll spread them out over time. So, as you've already gotten your piece of fanservice for today, I'll save the cute girl pics for later. Today, you get Ish. Tim has him explaining something in this pic, and I think he drew it originally to be used in a strip he just gave me, but opted to go with a different design. *Shrugs* Whatever works. Anyways, in today's strip, you can finally see how our comic got it's name. Well... sort of... The other half of the story will be told in the next strip, but I don't wanna' give away any more than that. This strip also gives you an overall idea about the premise for the comic. That, a quick archiving of the old rants, Tim handed me a "I'll see ya' later" rant for his side of the page and... uhh... that's about it. Oh, and by the way, I haven't had time to play it lately, but I'm pretty sure Gran Turismo 3 still rocks. |
Found an internet cafe in London. Going to Ireland tomorrow. Aren't the comics spiffy? Be back in a week or so! Ciao! 07/22/01 - ON VACATION "La dee da." By the time you read this I'll be in England. Just wanted to drive that point home... I hope you're all enjoying the comic. And don't give Jake too much of a hard time! And... and... I miss meat! Damn you, Mad Cow Disease! Damn you to hell!! ...I'll be back. |
