![]() Jake's Clever Banter OK, I really need to talk about something I very very breifly mentioned in the last update. A few things, actually. For starters, Frequency (The Playstation 2 game, not the movie). I said it was very very good. I've had a bit more time with it now, and my opinion's changed. It's not very very good. It's f!*#ing spectacular. Anyone who's ever liked any of the PaRappa games or anything even resembling them needs to check this game out. NOW. This game just hits every area right, and to top it all off, it has a bitchin' soundtrack. And, and, and you can find it for, like, twenty bucks. Like, you really need to get it. Did I mention that I really really really like this game? Oh, also, I got to see O Brother Where Art Thou yesterday, and that movie truly does live up to it's reputation- fantastic with an incredible soundtrack. Uhm, yeah. 6/12/02 - Just baaaaaarely made it Yeah, we are a little late, but I think it's worth it, given that Tim's put out an aaaaaaawesome strip today. Not that I didn't have anything to do with it, hee hee. Got myself a quartet of Wavebirds, and golly gee, they are nice. Every bit as good as you've heard. An' that's all I have to say about that. Got Morrowind for the XBox, and though there are a few things I haven't particularly warmed up to, it's pretty good, although I wouldn't trade FFX for it. Oh, I also got Frequency for the PS2, which is very very good. It's a music game that doesn't play like the zillions of other music games on the market. Yeah, maybe you guys like the hundreds of Parappa clones that are out there now, but I think there's nothing better than when companies branch out into the unkown with games like Rez, Frequency, and DDR (Which isn't quite as unkown now, but you get the point). Also, started watching the Blue Seed anime series lately, which seems to bounce back and forth between being ver very good, and being standard and so-so. All in all, though, it's pretty good. A solid series. Anyways, I think I'm gonna' get this update uploaded, because it's late already (Though we haven't broken our streak!). 6/10/02 - Oh my frickin' gawd... We're... we're still going... And Megatokyo's still not doing regular strips... We're... we're actually beating the snott out of Megatokyo, update-wise. Wow. Err... uhhh... ahem. This regular update was almost not to be, however, but not because of Tim. You see, my internet connection decided to give me the finger, and I finally this morning (At around Midnight) got back online (Three hours of phone calls followed by a two-minute solution. Figures). Tim got Ish to put up the strip in the meantime, just in case, but it still seemed like we were bound to break the update chain, but not so! Go, Tim, go! Let's see... I had opinions to give you, but I forget what about... Oh yeah, now I remember. Don't buy the movie Donnie Darko, but you might want to rent it. It's... weird. Medal of Honor is still damn nice, and... uhh... that's all I can think of. |
![]() Tim's Clever Banter Greetings, lifeforms! The Mognet updating streak goes on! WITH A VENGEANCE! How long can I last? I dunno, but methinks it will go on as long as the sun shines! YEEEEHAWWWW!!!!!! Oh crap! I just hope the evil mastermind Professor August DeWynter doesn't build his sun destroying machine! OH NO!!!!! Ha ha, GET STUFFED, we're getting to the meat of a brand new story arc: METAL GEAR SOLID, one of the best games to EVER come out of the land that brought us Bondage Faeries and Pocari Sweat, Japan! Funny thing is, I never heard of the game until a month before it's release. Well, no, now that I think about it, the instruction manual of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night had an ad in it. So, I guess, I first REALLY NOTICED Metal Gear Solid in the awesome gaming mag, Electronic Gaming Monthly. It had a HUGE (HUGE!) article all about it, detailing the game's intricate Hollywood-caliber plotline, the Metal Gear game series history, character dossiers, intreviews with Hideo Kojima and otherwise really rad stuff. I was amazed that a game like this was coming out in my lifetime. I immediately teleported to Electronics Boutique and pre-ordered myself a copy. As I waited that long month (camped outside the EB, cakes in hand) I read all about it. The hype was thick enough to be cut by a Cyborg Ninja's sword. It was supposedly in production for a friggin' long time. Hideo Kojima used LEGOS to build models of the game's environments! The screenplay was big enough to break a coffee table in half! OH JOY!! Finally, the wait was over. I got the game, a free MGS T-shirt, and was suckered into buying a Dual Shock, a player's guide, and an extra memory card. I was set. And now I ran out of things to say. |
