Well, the world really wants to screw with me in all things internet-related this week. First off, Keenspace is being a bitch and refusing to manually update, so I'm hoping the automatic update will work. I'll guess we'll know when this page does or doesn't appear. In addition to that, my DSL has quit on me not once, but twice this week, and I'm very happy that when I move mid-August, there'll be more options for broadband internet access. A warning to anyone in California: Pacific Bell DSL sucks. If you have another option as far as internet services go, take it. Anyways, today's should be the last Shirt-Guy Gom strip for a good while, and on Monday (As long as Ish gets it to me on time), we should be back to regular strips as planned. Oh, and don't forget that saturday is the last day for the contest, though with me bugging you about it so much, I doubt you could. Also, I've uploaded that second sketch I told you about, that the GIA wouldn't put in Sketch Artist. It was a pitiful attempt at a comic a long while back. I know the set-up seems like a really bad fanfic, and it all seems kinda oddly put together, but that's because I switched ideas in the middle of creating it. Oh well. At least I think I did a pretty good job drawing the last panel. And Gran Turismo 3 might rock, but sleep rocks more. 8/1/01 - Use the force, Luke Today, Lucasarts apparently revealed the Hoth level in Rogue leader (Playable at E3, but protected by NDAs). Oh. My. God. If there was ever any doubt in your mind of wether or not you were gonna' get a Gamecube, you must see these shots. I reccomend IGN's Preview here, and you absolutely have to see this, this, and this. Wow. Anyways, the contest is doing OK, and I've recieved a few entries, but mostly it's still been kinda' quiet. Please, just send something in. Remember that I close up shop and decide the winner of the Logitech Optical Mouse on Saturday night, so you still have time. But I'd still like to see some more entries soon. Oh well, I guess I'll take what I get. In other comic news, I've added a character profile for Gom to our "Bios" page, and have put up a sketch that I drew (Yes, me, not Tim), of Homunculus from Shadow of Destiny. See it in all it's suckiness here. I tried submitting this to the GIA's Sketch Art section (Twice, actually), along with a second pic I'll prolly put up on Friday, but both times, they refused to put it up, and I got absolutely no reason why. Well, screw that. I may as well put it up here so someone can see it. And despite that I'm starting to realize I need to get a better car than my Miata, Gran Turismo 3 still rocks. 7/30/01 - Lots to cover today. First off, let me start by saying that yes, we are having a "shirt guy" week. I'm sorry, it couldn't be helped. I don't think Tim left enough strips for while he was away, so I've had to improvise. Don't worry, though. Next week, things should be back to normal (As long as Ish gets me that strip soon enough). Meantime, Tim being gone can have advantages, too. I've decided to hold a contest, and since Tim ain't here, he can't object. I was thinking of calling it the "Tim's not here so I can do what I damn well please contest", but "The First Mognet Contest" is a little bit easier to type. And if you're not sure wether or not it'll be worth the effort, keep in mind that I don't think this 'site has many readers just yet, so the competition should be pretty slim. As for a prize, the contest winner will get a brand spankin' new Logitech Optical Mouse. Contest details can be found Here. Anyways, since we don't really have a "Contest" section of the 'site, I've made one in the "History" area. Also, the fourth of Tim's "While I'm away" sketches is now up, and can be viewed here. Like I said, this is my favorite one, as not only does the character portrayed seem so calm and serene, she's a cute anime girl as well (I'm a sucker for those. Sue me). Oh, and also, I've cached the previous rants. It may not seem like much to you, but it was a LOT of work for me (Considering I had to put together three strips in a matter of days). But despite this, I actually wanted to do even more. There was a third, secret project that I was able to finish, but didn't get to use, that'll probably go up another time. Meantime, Gran Turismo 3 still rocks, I beat Klonoa 2 last night (I'll probably post impressions in the board), and I am too damn tired. |
